Situated by the picturesque Lake Constance under the foothills of the Alpstein massif, our organic palace hotel is set among the diverse natural scenery of an English-style park. An oasis of green in Eastern Switzerland where Empress Zita herself once stayed, it was masterfully designed in 1860 and is now a fascinating national garden monument that attracts those in search of relaxation as well as nature and garden enthusiasts. On a surface area of some 130,000 square metres you can stroll in the shade of lime trees and chestnut trees, exploring leafy streams and solitary clearings. The palace vegetable garden occupies 2,500 square metres in the middle of the park - a biodynamic Pro Specie Rara garden containing rare species.

Our garden

This green oasis in eastern Switzerland, where Empress Zita stayed, was laid out in 1860 by master craftsmen and today, as a national garden monument, it inspires holidaymakers and lovers of nature and gardening alike. On about 13 hectares you can walk under shady lime, sycamore and chestnuts trees, discover shady streams and secluded clearings. Nestled in the park is also the castle garden, where vegetables, herbs, berries and flowers are taken care of for our guests. The treasures of Mother Nature are lovingly and biodynamically grown in the ProSpecieRara variety garden. But you will not only find the garden culture on your plate. Native wild herbs from the castle grounds inspire our kitchen artists to always try new creations.
